Hounslow Liberal Democrats Unveil Manifesto for 2026 elections
The Hounslow Liberal Democrats have launched their 2026 manifesto, “A Fair Deal for Hounslow,” setting out a clear vision to improve everyday life for residents and restore trust in local leadership.
The plan focuses on the issues that matter most to people across the borough. From tackling the cost of living crisis to delivering genuinely affordable housing, the manifesto outlines practical steps aimed at supporting families, strengthening communities, and ensuring public services work effectively.
Key commitments include making council tax spending more transparent, targeting support to those who need it most, and backing local businesses to help revitalise Hounslow’s high streets. The party has also pledged to take stronger action on housing by increasing affordable homes, tackling rogue landlords, and bringing empty properties back into use.
Young people and families are at the heart of the proposals, with plans to rebuild youth services, improve SEND provision, and expand access to mental health support. In healthcare, the Liberal Democrats are calling for better GP access, stronger support for care workers, and improved local services.
The manifesto also highlights the need for safer communities and a cleaner environment. Proposals include increased neighbourhood policing, better street lighting, expanded CCTV coverage, and action to tackle air pollution and protect green spaces.
