Hounslow Liberal Democrats Call on Ruth Cadbury MP to withdraw support for Starmer
Liberal Democrat councillor for Isleworth Roger Crouch is today (13 May) challenging Brentford and Isleworth’s Labour MP, Ruth Cadbury, to publicly withdraw their support for Prime Minister Keir Starmer and back a leadership contest.
After years of Tory failure, sleaze and scandal, people were hopeful things would get better under Labour. But following the Mandelson scandal, people in Brentford and Isleworth have lost all trust in the government and in Keir Starmer.
Now Labour politicians are too busy fighting amongst themselves in Westminster instead of delivering for communities on the cost of living and the NHS.
The Liberal Democrats are urging Ruth Cadbury to break their silence, stand up for the people of Brentford and Isleworth, and acknowledge that the country deserves better leadership than this.
Roger Crouch, Liberal Democrat councillor for Isleworth, said:
"The cost of living crisis is causing hell for families across our community in Brentford and Isleworth, but this Labour Government is just navel-gazing. Enough is enough. Residents in Brentford and Isleworth deserve so much better than this. While families struggle to pay their bills and wait months for basic healthcare, the Prime Minister's party is entirely focused on its own survival. Ruth Cadbury must have the courage to say Starmer must go so the Government can refocus on delivering change and better services for this country.”
