Hounslow Lib Dems Launch Residents’ Survey Ahead of May Elections

2 Mar 2026

The Hounslow Liberal Democrats have officially launched a comprehensive residents' survey to identify the key issues facing the borough prior to the local council elections on Thursday, 7th May.

The initiative marks a significant push for "community politics," with party leadership insisting that local candidates must prioritize listening to constituents over simple data collection.

The survey, which is being hand-delivered by volunteers across the borough and hosted on the party’s website, asks residents for their views on several critical local and national topics:

  • Street cleanliness and the local environment.
  • Crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • The performance and quality of NHS services.
  • The record of the Labour Government and the Labour-led Hounslow Council.

Roger Crouch, Chair of the Hounslow Liberal Democrats, emphasized that the party intends to use the period before the official campaign begins at the end of March to focus entirely on resident priorities. "Too often candidates for local elections do not spend enough time listening to residents," Roger said. "For Liberal Democrats, community politics is at the heart of our approach to politics".

Initial feedback from early survey returns suggests that infrastructure and maintenance are already top of mind for Hounslow voters. Judith Trounson, Vice-Chair of the Hounslow Liberal Democrats, noted that residents are expressing serious concern regarding "roads scarred by potholes" and a growing sense that the local environment is not being properly cared for by the current council.

Trounson pledged that the Liberal Democrats will be raising these issues throughout the election campaign and within the council chambers if candidates are successful in May.
