A Liberal Democrat choice in every Hounslow ward

With the close of nominations for council candidates today, Hounslow Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that residents in every ward up for election in Hounslow’s council elections will have the opportunity to vote for a Liberal Democrat candidate.

In a significant advance, Hounslow Liberal Democrats will be fielding 38 candidates with a candidate in each of Hounslow’s 22 wards. This is 19 more candidates than the last set of council elections in 2022 and the first time since 2014 that there has been a Liberal Democrat candidate in every ward.

In the three Chiswick wards (Chiswick Gunnersbury, Chiswick Homefields, and Chiswick Riverside), Brentford West, Hanworth Park, Hounslow South, Isleworth, and Osterley & Spring Grove, the Liberal Democrats will be running a full slate of candidates.

Judith Trounson, vice-chair of Hounslow Liberal Democrats, who has been co-ordinating the nomination process, commented, “most of our candidates live in the communities they seek to represent. Unlike other parties, we have not parachuted candidates into places they have no connection with. Our candidates are committed to listening and representing their residents.” 

Roger Crouch, chair of Hounslow Liberal Democrats, added, “for far too long, Liberal Democrats have been absent from Hounslow Council. We oppose the politics of the extreme right and left. We will promote progressive, but pragmatic, policies that benefit all of Hounslow residents.”
