Susan Kramer, Lib Dem MP for Richmond, is calling for Eurostar platforms at Waterloo to be used to improve commuter services

Transport Ministers have responded to recent questions tabled by Susan Kramer (Lib Dem MP for Richmond) on future plans for extra Waterloo platforms freed up by the Euro Star's move to St Pancras next year. In a Parliamentary written answer the Department for Transport says that it is currently working with South West Trains and Network Rail on the future plans. This work is expected to be completed by the Spring.

Susan Kramer said:

"I will continue to monitor the situation and to pursue Ministers on the issue of when the platforms will come into use for the benefit of commuters from the Kingston and Richmond areas.

"We want to ensure that there is no unnecessary delay to the change of use. If it slips back to 2010 I will find this unacceptable.

" I am also campaigning on a number of related issues including the upgrading of Clapham Junction which is a major artery for local commuters going into London or changing for other destinations.
