Lib Dems to call for Honesty and Openness at Campaign Launch12.00.00am GMT Mon 25th Feb 2002 Brentford & Isleworth Liberal Democrats will launch their Local Election Campaign in a Meeting for Press and Public on Friday 1st March at Isleworth Public Hall, South Street, Isleworth starting at 8pm. Campaign Manager Andrew Dakers says: "34 years of Labour rule in Hounslow is enough. It has bred complacency and it is time for change." ENDS Notes In recent months the Liberal Democrats have welcomed high profile Labour Party members Paul Marsden MP and Agony Aunt Clare Rayner to the party, along with many of their colleagues. Conservative Councillors too, disillusioned and out of place in Iain Duncan-Smith's Tory party, have joined the Liberal Democrats across London, from Camden to Croydon. Many people have told us on the doorstep that they will be voting Lib Dem this time. Local residents know it is the only way to get Labour out of control here in Hounslow Borough Council. They also say that Liberal Democrat local councillors work hard and keep in touch. Londoners are flocking to support our campaign for better public transport and a publicly owned and managed Tube, sorting out the mess successive Conservative and Labour Governments have made of Britain's railways.
