Local support mounts to re-open the Hounslow West Post Office12.00.00am GMT Mon 21st Feb 2005 "Hundreds of local residents in Hounslow have signed the petition to re-open our post office", said Satnam Kaur Khalsa the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, for the Feltham & Heston. "I am very pleased with the results. It shows people of Hounslow care and they want the service returned as soon as possible as many are having to go to the High Street." The new owner of the shop is also keen to open the post office but was not available to give an update to the situation. He will be handed the signatures in March 2005 so that he can convince the Post Office to reopen the West Branch. Satnam Kaur is also concerned about the other post office closures such as the one in New Heston Road. "People have been asking me to do something about that too. Once the West Post Office is opened I intend to give my full support to the Heston Post Office", she added.
