Cllr Andrew Dakers, Liberal Democrat prospective MP for Brentford & Isleworth Constituency, the main challenger to both Labour and Conservatives, says every vote for the Liberal Democrats will count more than ever this time.

Colin Firth first gained wide public attention for his portrayal of Mr Darcy in the 1995 television adaption of Pride and Prejudice. He achieved film stardom with 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and in February 2010 received an Academy Award nomination for his work in 'A Single Man', for which he won the BAFTA for Best Actor. Lib Dem prospective MP Cllr Andrew Dakers welcomed the news. He is a signatory to the Liberty-Refugee Council parliamentary candidates' pledge on refugee rights. Colin Firth's support is one among many indicators of growing support for Andrew Dakers. In the past few weeks bookies odds on Cllr Dakers winning the parliamentary seat have started to swing strongly in the Liberal Democrat's favour.

They also want residents to sign an online petition. Early in 2010 it was suggested that five of the eight A&Es in the north-west London sector were at risk of closure. At the NHS Hounslow board meeting on 8th April Cllr Dakers asked their Chief Executive Nick Relph for his views on the possible closure of A&E. His failure to give a clear response indicates that there is a very real risk of A&E closure. Post-general election expenditure cuts will increase the threat. The NHS Hounslow board also appeared to be "wobbling" on their previous commitment to a new GP surgery in Brentford.

Hounslow Lib Dem Leader and Prospective MP Cllr Andrew Dakers has released a new YouTube video in his continued support of the campaign to reduce aircraft noise and Heathrow's expansion by stealth. He has posted a two minute video clip on the popular video distribution service to explain how he believes the Cranford Agreement can be restored by local authorities putting a private bill before Parliament. The 1952 Agreement, which the Labour Government announced the end of in January 2009, prevented planes from taking off over densely populated Cranford from Heathrow's Northern runway.

Leader of Hounslow Liberal Democrats Cllr Andrew Dakers (Prospective MP for Brentford & Isleworth constituency) yesterday reiterated his concerns regarding licence fees for residential boat owners on BBC London radio's drive time show. The campaign is also championed by residential boat owner actress Susan Penhaligon and Vince Cable MP. They are arguing that people living in houseboats on the Thames are not getting a fair deal from the Port of London Authority (PLA). In a potential breakthrough the PLA Chief Executive announced on air last night that he would revisit the previous review of charges to residential boat owners. Cllr Dakers welcomed the news and urged the PLA to put on hold all changes to the licence fees that are currently in dispute.
